CatchThatBus, a South East Asian mobile-first bus-ticketing platform, announced a new round of funding led by Jungle Ventures, a Singapore based venture firm that funds and helps start-ups scale in Asia-Pacific, where it raised $1.5 million.

According to CEO Viren Doshi, the funds will be used to accelerate growth in Singapore and Malaysia, where it currently operates, as well as expand into other regional territories.

“We are looking to spend the funding primarily in investing in top talent and marketing to bring the CatchThatBus experience to even more travelers. The growth trajectory is aggressive, and we have already begun talks with investors for a larger fundraise in the coming months,” he said.

The app lets customers view real-time information on seat availability and schedules, and purchase tickets using credit card, debit card or online banking. It is available for Android, Apple and Windows phones.

A venture capital seed fund based in Silicon Valley called 500 Startups also participated in the round.
