Apple is reported to have fallen foul of the Chinese government (again), having been ordered to remove “obscene content” available through its app store.

According to reports originating from Xinhua News Agency, the company was one of 200 on a list compiled by the authorities.

The news comes shortly after it was reported that the iPhone maker had pulled “at least one” app from its store, due to it providing access to content prohibited under Chinese law.

The country’s authorities have strict rules in place with regard to the content available, which Apple obviously has to abide by in its operations.

The company was also on the receiving end of criticism following a dispute about iPhone warranties, which meant that “some consider Apple’s attitude to be arrogant, inattentive or indifferent to consumer feedback”.
