French app discovery company AppGratissecured $13.5 million in funding, which it plans to use to open new international offices and hire talent to develop new technology, according to CEO Simon Dawlat.

AppGratis has already racked up seven million users of its app which is available in more than 30 countries. It has seen particularly strong growth in Brazil, India and Japan.

The Series A investment comes from the Iris Capital and Orange Publicis venture capital programme, which invests in digital businesses in Europe.

Dawlat said the company picked the investors as they provide “a healthy combination of VC money, mobile DNA, advertising excellence DNA and global reach”.
