Developer tools company Appcelerator said that 350,000 developers are now using its Titanium platform, with more than 50,000 mobile apps having been built using the technology.

Appcelerator’s platform is being used by developers in more than 185 countries, with the largest numbers in Brazil, Germany, India, Japan, the UK and the US. Apps produced on Titanium are now present on 75 million devices around the world.

"As this mobile community grows in the US and overseas, this tremendous milestone further demonstrates the scope of innovative and cutting-edge apps that Appcelerator's developers are creating to ignite the mobile revolution,” said Appcelerator CEO Jeff Haynie.

Titanium can be used to build native Android and iOS apps, as well as HTML5 mobile web apps, and provides analytics to help developers understand how their apps are performing. Appcelerator also claims that Titanium enables developers to build apps in 70 percent less time than on other platforms.
