appbackr announced Xchange, which it described as “a clearing mechanism to provide distribution of great apps to stores, platforms and digital store fronts”.

Android, HTML5 and iOS apps submitted are scored for quality and engagement on a number of factors, including user ratings, updates, sales activity and other factors.

Apps which score 8.5 or above (on a 1 to 10 scale) are featured to stores and platforms looking to recruit or feature apps.

The company said that the service is now available to operators, platforms and stores, including launch customers 3 UK, 3 Ireland and Tizen.

Trevor Cornwell, founder and CEO of appbackr, said: “For developers, there is no optimised way to manage distribution—from multiple platforms, to localisation, to featuring. For stores, Xchange creates a way to target exactly the right apps for their unique platform and customer set.”
