App Annie, a provider of analytics and market data for mobile apps, launched a new product called Audience Intelligence, aimed at helping industry professionals understand who is buying an app and why.

It offers publishers a better understanding of users by analysing demographics related to apps and sentiment data.

According to CEO Bertrand Schmitt, Audience Intelligence is a result of publishers saying they were unable to get accurate demographics of their own user base, as well as that of competitors.

“It’s logical that we want to provide our customers with information on the users behind the downloads, and Audience Intelligence does just that,” said Schmitt.

“Now publishers can better understand their competition, target their marketing campaigns to maximise ROI, and create products that are better adapted to their target market. The benefits will ripple across the entire app ecosystem,” he added.
