Security software vendor Bitdefender said that Android app 'Battery Doctor' tops its list of smartphone malware threats in the UK, stating that it contains Android.Trojan.FaceDoc, which “intercepts Gmail messages and broadcasts them to an attacker-controlled server, along with geo-location data and operator name”. It also said that the Google Play game 'Slot Machines' contains “aggressive adware”, noting that this category of malware “can change the default search engine, place additional shortcuts on your home screen that link to promotional content, display more popups than regular apps, etc”.
