Amazon looks to lure OpenFeint developers

17 JAN 2013

Amazon published a guide for developers who had supported the OpenFeint social gaming platform to migrate to its own GameCircle network, following the shutdown of OpenFeint late last year.

In a blog post, the company said that “GameCircle makes achievements, leaderboards, and sync APIs accessible, simple, and quick for you to integrate, giving gamers a seamless and entertaining in-game experience”.

Gree, owner of OpenFeint, closed the service on 14 December 2012, having given developers just one month’s notice of its plan.

Its intention was for them to migrate to its own Gree platform, although Amazon observed that “many mobile app developers find themselves having to evaluate other social gaming platforms”.
