Amazon has added a Maps API to the tools that are available as part of its Mobile App SDK. It enables developers to integrate mapping functionality into apps running on the recently-announced Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD tablets. It is also said to offer a "simple migration path" for developers already using the native Google Maps API on Android, to enable interactive maps and custom overlays for businesses and other points of interest.
