Amazon added iOS support to its Mobile Ads API, enabling developers working with Apple’s platform to include display content from the Amazon Mobile Ad Network within their products.

Both interstitial and banner ads can be included in iOS apps, in addition to Android devices and those running Amazon’s Fire OS. Support for Amazon’s recently-announced Fire smartphone will be available from 25 July.

According to Amazon, integration with its ad network enables developers to better monetise apps and gain access to highly relevant ads from brand advertisers.

New geographical regions have also been added to the Amazon Mobile Ad Network, with Spain and Italy joining the US, the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.

The company added new features to its Mobile Ad Network in November last year, to allow developers to track campaigns in terms of geography and mobile device type.

This better enabled developers to compare the performance of Amazon Mobile Ad Network and other networks for their apps.

Developers need to integrate the Mobile Ads API to access the free analytics tools, which also include data on which apps are using ads most effectively, total numbers of impressions and the ad sizes that get the best return on investment.
