Apple hires health tracker exec

23 AUG 2013

Apple has signed up Jay Blahnik (pictured), an industry consultant who played a major role in developing Nike’s Fuelband, the health tracker device.

There has been no statement about Blahnik’s role at Apple although reports suggest he will be working on a watch or another piece of technology that is designed to monitor a user’s fitness or exercise.

The hiring was first reported by 9to5Mac.

Another recent report said Apple was assembling a team of experts in using sensors to monitor the human body, which would fit with a move into health tracking.
