Gartner: Nokia lead in smartphones drops 10%
Nokia's share of the global smartphone market slumped by 10.1 percent in the final quarter of 2008 as rivals such as Samsung, Research In Motion (RIM), HTC and Apple made gains, according to new figures from Gartner.
Symbian loses market share as RIM grows
Symbian is losing dominance in the smartphone operating system (OS) market according to Gartner, with the analyst firm claiming that Symbian's share of the global OS market decreased to 47.1 percent in the fourth-quarter of 2008.
