Comcast jumped into the prepaid arena with a mobile tariff that includes unlimited 5G data paired with its 23 million Wi-Fi hotspots, as part of a scheme to offer a low-cost monthly service.

Vodafone Idea outlined plans to finally deploy 5G service, aiming to invest INR57.2 billion ($685 million) to take the service to 40 per cent of its revenue base in 24 to 30 months, following fresh fundraising, Financial Express reported.

NTT Docomo, its parent, NEC and Fujitsu completed verification tests using sub-terahertz bands, achieving data transmission speeds of 100Gb/s, which they noted is 20-times faster than the peak rates of current 5G networks.

The US and European Commission outlined joint progress towards 6G development and potential AI use cases, following a meeting to discuss an existing trade and technology pact.
