ZTE calls for LTE convergence
The Chinese vendor's president, Shi Lirong, said at the GSMA Mobile Asia Congress that "operators and vendors must work together to win the market in LTE." He also told delegates that the firm was concentrating on combining TD-LTE and FDD-LTE on the same platform in order to offer a "converged solution” and revealed ZTE had recently won a contract at an (unnamed) European operator, which has requested a converged TD/FDD LTE network to be built to overcome spectrum limitations.
