Peter Hazlehurst (pictured), director of product management for Google Wallet, has left the company with his destination unknown, according to Re/code.

The search giant has been moving the under-performing wallet away from its original tap-to-pay strategy, and it was Hazlehurst who blogged about some of the changes last autumn.

New features included P2P money transactions which enable users to send money from their smartphone to anyone in the US with an email address from their wallet account, bank and debit/credit card.
