The proposed deal for Japanese operator Softbank to acquire 70 percent of US operator Sprint Nextel won’t result in any job losses, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing said that Softbank has "a track record of acquiring and supporting companies during a turnaround without conducting employee reductions”. The US company also expects to drop Nextel from its name if the deal is approved.
