T-Mobile US targeted Apple iPhone users in its final Un-Carrier Amped initiative of the summer, which sees the company bolster its existing upgrade promotion and offer access to the newly launched Apple Music service on its Music Freedom platform.

The latest move follows a stream of announcements over the past month, which are targeted at building on some of the changes it has attempted to implement in the mobile space over the past two years.

In its latest promotion, T-Mobile US customers which took part in the company’s iPhone 6 upgrade promotion, launched a few weeks ago, will now be able to upgrade to Apple’s next iteration of the device when it launches completely free of charge.

The JUMP! On Demand offer allowed customers to upgrade to an iPhone 6 for a $15 fee, plus trade in.

T-Mobile US CEO John Legere said customers will not need to change their monthly payment plan or pay a deposit or fees to take part in the latest deal.

He also revealed customers qualifying for the scheme will also get priority access to the next iPhone when it becomes available.

“Now, every single customer who gets a new iPhone 6 this summer as part of this deal can simply swap it for the next iPhone,” he said in a blog post. “If there’s a new iPhone this year, you’re first in line.”

Apple Music on Music Freedom
The company announced it is also adding the Apple Music service to its “Music Freedom” program, which now boasts 33 services and can be streamed on T-Mobile’s network without impact to data allowance.

Legere said Apple Music became the single most requested addition to Music Freedom, accounting for 80 per cent of requests and he “heard every single one of them”.

“Apple is a huge addition to Music Freedom. Millions and millions of people are already using Apple Music, and it is set to shape the streaming music landscape – like Apple’s done with just about everything they touch,” he added.

Legere claimed Music Freedom as a whole covers “95 per cent of all music streamed on mobile in the US”.
