Orange completed the acquisition of Lexsi, a European cybersecurity firm specialising in “threat intelligence services”, through its Orange Business Services entity.

Michel Van Den Berghe, CEO of Orange Cyberdefense, the IT security services subsidiary of Orange Business Services, explained that the operator has identified cyber security as one of its strategic priorities.

“Lexsi bolsters our ability to detect, analyse and respond to the threat of cyber attacks and positions us as a major player in this field in Europe,” he said.

Lexsi provides services in the fields of audit, consultancy, incident response and cyber security training, employing more than 170 experts. Orange claims it has the largest independent incident response team in Europe.

Orange Cyberdefense supports companies with security issues and helps them “protect their most valuable assets”.

Orange entered into exclusive talks with Argos Soditic, a Swiss-based private equity firm, to acquire Lexsi for an undisclosed sum in March.

The acquisition would represent a new milestone in the development of Orange Cyberdefense, bringing additional expertise and capabilities to its portfolio and strengthening its position as the IT security services leader in France and a leading player in Europe, the operator had said at the time.
