Samsung confirmed it is working with AT&T to offer a rugged version of the Galaxy S7, called Galaxy S7 Active.

The device is “water and shatter-resistant”, to give “greater peace of mind when dealing with life’s everyday fumbles”. But with improved water and dust proofing on the standard Galaxy S7, this means S7 Active is targeting buyers who require an even greater level of robustness.

Available in gold, grey and green, the device has a 5.1-inch screen and 4000mAh battery – the largest of any Galaxy S device. It is said to offer “all the premium features of the Galaxy S7 series”, including a 12MP camera, fingerprint sensor and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.

It has 32GB of internal storage with microSD expansion slot.

It also supports Samsung’s Knox mobile security platform, implemented at the chip level “so your device is highly secure from the moment it boots up”.
