Motorola announced its Moto X Force, a device featuring “the world’s first shatterproof smartphone display”, shortly after it unveiled a version of the device for US operator Verizon.

Moto X Force has a 5.4-inch quad HD (2K) display, with a five-layer construction that “absorbs shock from impact and guarantees not to shatter”.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, with 3GB of RAM, and is available with either 32GB or 64GB of storage (with microSD expansion slot).

Motorola said it “features our best camera yet – 21MP with rapid focus and a 5MP wide angle front-facing camera with flash for selfies”.

It also offers up to 48 hours of battery life with fast charging technology that delivers up to 13 hours of battery life with 15 minutes of charging.

It is available with Moto Maker customisation.

Earlier this week a version of Moto X Force was announced by US number one operator Verizon, which is selling it as Droid Turbo 2.

For the UK market, it costs £499 for the 32GB version or £534 for 64GB.
