LG Electronics said it will unveil “the most advanced model” in its G Pad tablet series at IFA 2015 early in September, with availability to follow in “key markets in North America, Europe and Asia”.

The device, G Pad II 10.1, has a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 screen, and is powered by a 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of onbord storage and a microSD expansion slot, with 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras.

Software features include a “reader mode”, which cuts the blue light from the display to reduce eye fatigue and blurred vision, and dual window, which shows two apps at the same time. It comes pre-loaded with Microsoft’s Office for Android Tablet, with an additional 100GB of OneDrive storage for two years.

“Customers asked for a large display, bigger battery and faster performance all without raising the price. The G Pad II delivers on all counts,” Chris Yie, VP and head of marketing for LG Mobile Communications, said.

It will be available in LTE and Wi-Fi versions. The colour is “brilliant bronze”.
