The world’s biggest mobile event gets underway in just a few days’ time. It’s big. REALLY BIG. So big it has its own television station. And this year Mobile World Live TV (MWL TV) is going to be all over the event, with far more screens than ever before and the best content broadcasting not just around the venue, but across the city and online globally. So whether you’re making the trip to Barcelona or stuck back in the office, MWL TV will ensure you don’t miss a thing.

Here’s ten reasons to tune in:

  • THE BIG ONE: Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is coming to town! Zuckerberg has made very few event appearances in recent years (especially outside the US), but he’s giving the first MWL keynote of this year’s event. And MWL TV is streaming the session exclusively live at 6pm CET on Monday 24th February. That has to be worth a ‘Like’, surely?
  • MWL TV is broadcast LIVE. Live television is unpredictable. Things will go wrong. This should in itself be entertaining (more so for the viewers than presenters). Although we can’t guarantee any epic Michael Bay meltdowns
  • Another exclusive keynote: the #1 most powerful woman in business (Fortune, 2013) –  IBM’s Chairman, President and CEO, Virginia M. Rometty – will appear live on the Wednesday evening of Congress, as the head of one of the world’s tech giants talks mobile, cloud and big data.
  • MWL TV will bring you more than 20 exclusive interviews with the biggest-name CEOs in mobile. From operators to OTT players, network vendors to device manufacturers, we will be talking to the most high-profile execs in the industry. Names already confirmed include the heads of Alcatel-Lucent, Dropbox, EE, Kakao, Viacom and VimpelCom.
  • MWL TV is more fun than blisters. With more than 100 multi-sized screens throughout the venue you will never be far from catching the action. So give your feet a rest and catch up on all the news.
  • MWL TV will debate the industry’s hottest topics all week. In fact we’ve scheduled almost 20 panel discussions focused on the industry’s biggest talking points – everything from 5G to wearables, small cells to privacy – and only the most relevant and topical companies will feature on each panel.
  • We’ll bring you all the action from the 19th annual Global Mobile Awards, as well as an exclusive interview with BAFTA and Tony Award-winning British actor, writer, presenter and comedian James Corden. We don’t know how much he knows about the mobile industry, but we plan to find out.
  • Every major press launch will air on MWL TV. We’ve already got the invites from Huawei, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony and Tizen, and more will follow. We’ll be reporting from each event.
  • Each evening our studio host Sasha Twining will review the day’s action, joined by a panel of industry experts. Exclusive keynote highlights from that morning’s conference session will broadcast, as well as all the buzz from the showfloor – don’t miss the Daily Wrapup show.
  • All the week’s content will be available in bite-sized programme chunks once the event closes its doors for another year. So if you miss any of the live broadcast and want to relive a particular programme, every piece of content will be available for replay just days after the last cerveza has been sunk in Barcelona.

So they’re our plRon Burgandyans. We hope you’ll be able to tune in during what is always a crazy week. MWL TV will be streamed to the homepage of our site from 8.30am on Monday 24th February – we’ll see you then.

“You stay classy, Barcelona. We’re Mobile World Live TV.”
