Apple removed app promotion title AppShopper from its store, after deciding it contravened its terms and conditions, reports The Next Web.

AppShopper publisher, Arnold Kim, said the removal of the app is related to the introduction of a rule in September which governs promotion of third party titles within apps.

The specific clause reads: “Apps that display apps other than your own for purchase or promotion in a manner similar to or confusing with the App Store will be rejected.”

AppShopper promotes deals, tracks prices and allows users to create wish lists.

The Next Web report said that developers of similar apps are likely to need to prove to Apple that they offer additional benefits over the App Store itself.
