Tools previewed at Google’s I/O event in May, universal app campaigns and performance reports, are now live in the company’s Android developer console.

Universal app campaigns automatically pull in images, video and descriptions from an app’s Google Play store listing to generate ad formats.

Google then automatically optimises campaigns and experiments with different “creatives and bids” to maximise app install volume as close as possible to developers’ target cost-per-install.

Developers can set up ad campaigns from within the Google Play developer console and promote their app across Google Play, Google Search, YouTube and the Google Display Network.

They will be able to find and grow their install base with the help of Google’s “unparalleled reach”, the tech giant said.

The new performance report lets developers see how people are finding their Play Store listing, how many install the app, and how many go on to make purchases (click image to enlarge).
