Facebook introduced filters, or masks, for its Live feature, in its most recent Snapchat-like move.

The masks kick off with a Halloween theme, including a skull, an evil queen and two limited-edition masks: a pumpkin and a witch.

“If you’re looking to share moments in real time with added flair, you will soon be able to go live on Facebook wearing a mask.  A selection of masks will continue to be available after Halloween, so you can be creative in your Live videos any time,” the social media giant said.

The feature is similar to the Iron Man mask CEO Mark Zuckerberg used when he announced that Facebook was acquiring the team behind Masquerade, which lets users put real time filters on videos, back in March.

Masks will be rolling out over the next few days for people using Facebook Live on iOS in the US, UK and New Zealand and in coming month the feature will be extended to more countries and to Android.

Last week, Facebook was reported to have tested its ‘Messenger Day’ feature in Australia, enabling users to add photos and videos to a feed which disappears in 24 hours, much like Snapchat.
